ACCREDITATIONS & CPD – WHY DO WE HAVE THEM & WHY DO WE NEED THEM?
Are you qualified to do your job? I mean really qualified.
Either by exam passes, training, regularly attending courses or just good old-fashioned experience and common-sense.
EXPERIENCE IS GOOD, EXPERIENCE IS GREAT. But think about it, does it mean that we only carry on learning from our mistakes?
Hopefully, we don’t make a massive bloomer that could affect our career, our health or our business achieving its end goal?
When we do make a mistake, big or small, we say to ourselves, “I won’t do that again” and we don’t – but too late, we already have.
THAT’S WHY ALL PESTWISE PEST TECHNICIANS NEED TRAINING AND EXPIRENCE PLUS COMMONSENSE, BEFORE WE CAN LET THEM ANYWHERE NEAR A CLIENTS BUSINESS OR PROPERTY.
Take for instance the dreaded Health & Safety laws and recommendations.
ROB, OUR MD SAYS:
“I know it’s gone mad, but in our industry, I we don’t train our people correctly, pass exams to show competence and gain some sort of professional development, our Pest Technicians could easily expose members of the public, staff members and even other technicians to poisons, fumigants, lethal gases and dangerous traps.
I always give the example of a new car driver:
- Gain a little experience, invest in yourself and learn how to drive, allowing you to pass your test.
- When you have passed your test, learn how to drive again!!!!
- Drive down dark country lanes, drive on the motorways, sit in a traffic jam, deal with a breakdown or flat tyre or a steaming radiator or a police check.
- You trained to obtain your licence – you are using common sense and by gain experience you will develop in to a good safe and competent driver.”
WHAT IF WE GAVE THE WRONG ADVICE AND INCORRECT INFORMATION TO OUR CLIENTS? WHAT IF WE WERE NEGLIGENT?
TRAINING, COMMONSENSE, DEVELOPMENT AND EXPIRENCE EQUALS A GOOD JOB DONE AND A SATIFIED CUSTOMER.”
